Clever Mother Nature.

We always knew that Mother Nature was clever, but even Pure Eau is impressed at the lengths she can go to. No need for water filters or water coolers in the Atacama desert. The locals gathering water can teach a lesson to conservationists.Whilst many people have to search for water, others like the Chileans of the Atacama Desert almost sit back and let it come to them. As the wind blows across the Pacific it draws up water from the sea until it becomes a thick fog. As soon as the fog hits the desert coastline it becomes ‘trapped’ by lichen on cacti and condenses into water which is drunk by the local animals. The locals (clearly resourceful and ingenious) then set up huge nets which line the hills, trapping the fog as it rolls across the desert. The river they proudly name ‘mother nature water’ is the source they use to transport their goods in canoes built by themselves with the wood they obtain from a special tree suitable to withstand the harsh terrain – Mother nature at its best, when materials are simply sourced within the environment in which they live.
