Pure Eau chats around the water cooler – locating and mapping water supplies in the world

Do we really have any idea exactly where the World’s water comes from? It has long been a mystery how much fresh water is left in aquifers, or for that matter on the planet in general. Technology is helping to solve the questions by locating and mapping water supplies, enabling us to gain an understanding of the amounts of water we have. This, it seems is the key to being able to ration supplies. A recent article (Heimbuch 3/3/11, www.treehugger.com) explores how scientists at the University of British Columbia created a global map at how fluid flows through the Earth’s various surfaces. They suggest that mapping technologies such as these are fundamental in helping us to gainer a clearer understanding of where the fresh water supplies are, how they are replenished and eventually how much we have left. Pure Eau knows the importance of access to clean, pure water. Our water coolers and water filters ensure you have access to drinking as much pure water as you like.
The new methods of water mapping also help us to gain an understanding of contaminants which are polluting the World’s water.  Water wells in South East Asia are contaminated with arsenic according to another report highlighted by www.treehugger.com. The World Health Organisation www.who.int/ also emphasize how arsenic in drinking water is a hazard to human health. It became first apparent in the 1990’s in well water in Bangladesh, although it occurs less extensively in many other countries also. add that drilling deeper wells appeared to be contaminating the groundwater supplies faster. The report explained that a 3D groundwater map can help researchers show where the safe, pure, drinking water supplies are and where water purification may be needed.  As the population grows, and water sources are becoming scarce, purification technologies are becoming crucial. Here at Pure Eau we take water purification very seriously. All ourwater coolers and water filters use a process called ‘Reverse Osmosis’ which removes all the contaminants and leaves you with fresh, pure drinking water.
Having access to clean, pure, drinking water is a basic human right. In many countries the infrastructure for water treatment is poor. In the United States alone, it is estimated that 1.7 trillion gallons of water every year are lost through leaks and problems with the aging water infrastructure. Pure Eau strongly supports that water is our most precious commodity and we have to protect it.  We are fortunate, for the time being that in the UK we have access to plenty of water. Pure Eau can filter all the water you need to ensure through our water coolers and water filters you are provided with as much drinking water as you can drink to ensure optimum health.
