Pure Eau ensures your baby is drinking enough pure water this summer
It is often easy to tell when an older child is thirsty because they have the capability to ask for a drink or get one for themselves. If your baby is drinking enough, he will have a wet nappy at nearly every change and he will be putting on weight. However, what should you look for if you think your baby is dehydrated?
• Nappies - fewer than 6 wet nappies in 24 hours or no wet nappy for 6 hours
• Urine - is consistently dark yellow
• Fontanelle - the 'soft spot' on your baby's head may be sunken
• Mouth - and lips are dry and sticky.
• Skin - may be less elastic
Some of the more usual causes for dehydration include tummy upsets, fever or sore mouth, gums or throat making drinking painful. If you are worried your baby is becoming dehydrated, speak to your Health Visitor, GP or NHS Direct. Pure Eau ensure that our water coolers and water filters ensure your baby is totally hydrated. Our water has also been through a process called reverse osmosis which removes contaminants and toxins allowing your baby to drink nothing but pure water. It is essential that children are hydrated throughout the day but even more so during the summer months. It is sensible to keep young children supplied with a hat, kept out of the midday sun, and with plenty of sunscreen.
The NHS www.nhs.uk advise all babies and infants are at particular risk of dehydration because they have a low body weight and are sensitive to even small amounts of fluid loss. Pure Eau provides families with pure drinking water to ensure that you provide your children with the best possible start. All the contaminants including lead, calcium carbonate, lead and other toxins have been removed through reverse osmosis within our water coolers and water filters to ensure your family is drinking nothing but the best.
