Pregnancy. How much water should you drink.

How much water should you drink when pregnant? A chat around the pure eau water cooler.

Pure Eau understands the importance of drinking plenty of pure water, especially when pregnant. Water can be the answer to alleviating many side effects of pregnancy, aid in preparing the body for these physiological changes, and just overall making mother and child healthier. You should be aiming to drink eight 8-ounce glasses per day (64 fluid ounces) of fluid plus one 8-ounce cup for each hour of light activity. Milk, juice, decaffeinated drinks contains plenty of water and "count" toward your fluid intake. A tip if you are not sure how much to drink is to measure the amount of water you should be drinking and store it in the fridge and drink it throughout the day. Caffeinated drinks dehydrate you, and make you urinate more, yet the amount of fluid you actually lose because of this diuretic effect is so small that it's insignificant. However, it is best to limit caffeine to 200 mg (about one 12-ounce cup) per day. More than that can raise the risk of miscarriage, according to a 2008 study.  Most pregnant women suffer from oedema at some point during their pregnancy particularly during the summer months when feet and ankles become swollen. Don't hesitate to drink water and other fluids because you're afraid of retaining water, either. Oddly enough, the more fluids you drink during pregnancy, the less your body retains. So drinking water actually helps. Pure Eau provides pure water which has been processed through reverse osmosis through our water coolers and water filters which hydrates your body and keeps both you and your baby in optimum health
Water is an important part of pregnancy. The fluid acts as the body's transportation system, and carries nutrients through the blood to the baby. Drinking water is especially important in the last trimester, when dehydration can cause contractions that can trigger premature labour.  Pure Eau agrees that every living thing needs to be balanced to keep in optimum health. Our water coolers and water filters provide you and your family or office with enough drinking water to keep you hydrate throughout the summer months and all year round. Drinking plenty of pure water also helps prevent some common pregnancy problems such as constipation, haemorrhoids, and bladder infections. Water helps to dilute urine which reduces the risk of infection so it is essential to drink enough. The water we use at Pure Eau within our water coolers and water filters, because it has been filtered through reverse osmosis takes away impurities, toxins and contaminants which actually help your kidneys to filter better.
Dehydration in pregnant women can be very serious. Hormones change the way women store water during pregnancy, so they begin to retain water, and drinking plenty of water combats that. Much of that water is used in the amniotic sack. Amniotic fluid alone needs to replenish itself every hour by using roughly a cup of water stored in the body. Replacing that water will insure the foetus is protected within the womb. Time to get creative if you just cannot stomach the taste of water and do not want the extra calories by drinking sugary high calorie juices and drinks. Add a wedge of lemon or lime, or dilute juice with Pure Eau water which is free from contaminants and nothing but pure water. Our water coolers and water filters provide you with as much pure water as you can drink.
