Pure Eau looks at the origins of purifying water

It’s all down to those clever Egyptians
Pure Eau were amazed to learn the Egyptians were the first people to record methods for treating water. Records date back more than 1,500 years to 400 A.D. Their methods for cleaning water were fairly basic by today’s standards. They would boil contaminated water over a fire, heat it by using intense sunlight or by dipping a heated piece of iron into it. Another genius method was to filter boiling water through sand and gravel and then allowing it to cool. Pure Eau understands the importance of filtering water, and we go above and beyond ensuring your drinking water is as pure as it can be. We use a process called “Reverse Osmosis” which removes all contaminants and toxins and our water coolers and water filters allow you to drink as much pure water as your body needs.

Water treatment today is much more of a complex procedure. Although approximately 70% of the earth’s surface is covered with water, 97% of this water is salt water which is filled with other minerals and should not be drunk by the human race. Although salt can be removed, it is difficult and expensive. 2% of the water on earth is glacier ice, situated at the North and South Poles. This ice is fresh water and could be melted; however, it is too far away from where people live to be usable. Less than 1% of all the water on earth is fresh water that we can actually use. We use this small amount of water for drinking, transportation, heating and cooling, industry, and many other purposes. Pure water is tasteless, odourless, and colourless, and can occur in three states solid (ice), liquid, or gas (vapour). We disagree with the tasteless part  -  our water tastes delicious because our customers tell us so. No metallic taste or chlorine smell coming from our water either -  just clean and pure water. We provide homes and businesses throughout the UK with clean pure water every day within our water filter systems and our water coolers.

Water is a great solvent, yet this makes it vulnerable to pick up several natural pollutants. Even in nature, water is not always clean enough for people to drink. When the microscope was invented in the 1850s, germs could be seen in water for the first time. In 1902, Belgium was the first country to use chlorine to clean or treat water in a public water supply. Today, almost every city in the world treats their drinking water. Treatment includes disinfection with chlorine or other chemicals to kill any germs in the water. However, with that comes a price. Here at Pure Eau we firmly believe you can overload on the treatment of water which is why we choose to remove contaminants like chlorine and fluoride through reverse osmosis as medical research has provided enough evidence to suggest that these added chemicals are actually detrimental to health. Shouldn’t you know what is in your drinking water? Pure Eau water has a solution to all your water needs hydrating your body for optimum health
