Thirst Quenching Water.
Temperatures are rising. Summer is just around the corner.
It’s time to start thinking of long hot summer days, long cool drinks and ways to stay fresh and alert at work.
What you are about to read is no great revelation and makes absolute sense. What’s more, it’s scientific.
“Being in a good state of wellness and health can be enhanced by drinking water!!”
With the brain made up of 70% water, the lungs 90% and 80% in the blood, not to mention other body functions, it is not a surprising statement.
What IS surprising though, is the number of people who choose to ignore this fact and become unwell, lethargic and unhealthy as a result. They blame it on many things other than the fact that they have ignored their body’s signs of dehydration (often mistaken for hunger).
Even a 2% reduction of water levels in the body can result in diminished mental activity and decreased physical aptitude. Scientists have shown that by providing a good fresh supply of drinking water can enhance the bodies’ alertness and reactions for longer periods of time. Consequently, this education has filtered through to businesses, schools, sports people and the general public. It is now becoming more widely known the importance of keeping the body hydrated because by the time an individual feels thirsty, the body has already begun the closing down process which dehydration causes.
The installation of water coolers and water filter units in offices, schools and public buildings is going a long way to addressing this and providing chilled, fresh water. The confusion between the need for water and the need for food can contribute to excessive eating but by drinking water first, the body soon understands its requirements leaving a feeling of being full but with the added bonus of hydration. Those in the beauty industry or interested in the health and beauty world have long known the benefits of water for a healthy complexion and as an anti ageing aid.
Installing water coolers or filters with enhanced filtration called reverse osmosis is an even healthier option as the process removes up to 95% of contaminants found in drinking water against only 10-15% removal in an ordinary filter system.
