Easter Water
05 April 2011
The medicinal properties found in water have been documented since time began. Pure-Eau stumbled upon a wonderful local story or ‘folk law’ known as Easter Water, where locals from a small community in Canada have documented a custom formerly practiced in Pubnico as well as other Acadian villages with the procurement of Easter water on Easter morning. Pure Eau agrees that drinking natural pure water has many health and medicinal benefits. By drinking 8 glasses of pure water every day the body flushes out toxins and contaminants aiding optimum health. Our water coolers and water filters both for work and home allow you to drink as much pure drinking water you want.
This coastal region of Acadia is now known as Novia Scotia, New Brunswick, Quebec and part of Maine. Some people believe the name ‘Acadia’ came from the Native American word "Quoddy" or "Cadie" (a French adaptation to a Native American word meaning fertile place).
During Easter morning, locals would go to the brook before sunrise, choosing a brook which only flowed from East to West before they gathered water. Easter water was sought for its medicinal properties. Tradition has preserved many versions of the prayer one would recite to the brook, which was necessary to bless the water. Word choice changed slightly from person to person, but the prayers essentially all mean the same thing. Here are a few examples:
1. O Jesus my saviour, purify this medical water that cures all evil.
2. Behold the water, so pure and fertile, good and medicinal for all kinds of ailments.
3. It is God who purifies this medicinal water that cures all ailments and which is fertile for everyone.
Easter Water has remained a precious tradition to the people of Acadia and is shared through the generations as an important part of their heritage. Pure Eau understands the medicinal purposes of drinking pure water, and we believe it isn’t always easy to have immediate access to clean drinking water so we can help with that. Our water coolers and water filters use a process known as Reverse Osmosis. This is a process when water is forced through a semi-permeable membrane that traps particulates. The membrane is made of a dense polymer layer of microscopic thickness which allows only pure water to pass through, effectively filtering it of almost 100% of Total Dissolved Solids (TDS). Pure-Eau has a solution to all your water requirements.
