Water Filter
The World of the Water Filter
The water filter has become synonymous with clean, healthy drinking water. However, the choices of water filter can be simple and single or they can be complex and involve more than one to produce the quality of water expected from the filter system.
The purpose of the water filter is to remove contaminants and impurities found in drinking water. The extent and efficiency which is achieved depends on the filter combination, complexity and quality. A water filter offering varying amounts of filtration can range from a simple jug filter to a more complex Whole of House Filter System. There are filter systems used on a much larger industrial scale where the type of water filter used is principally the same but on a different scale to domestic usage.
A Whole of House domestic water filter system
This is connected to the mains water supply as it comes into the house and is good for removing sediment and rust. It serves all rooms where there is water such as bathrooms, kitchens, utility rooms. This system not only improves the quality of your drinking water supply, it also helps increase the lifespan of major appliances such as dishwashers and electric showers.
The under sink domestic water filter
This comes in different forms. The water filter used could be a single one, simply there to chemicals such as chlorine and larger particles. The water filter installed to remove all contaminants is likely to remove odours and improve taste by removing chemicals, pesticides, heavy metals. This type would only serve the area in which it was installed i.e. the kitchen. many Under Counter Water Filters supply a stand alone faucet rather than the main supply, though both types are available from Pure Eau Ltd.
A jug filter
A jug filter uses a water filter canister. The water passes through the filter where it is held in a jug. This is the simplest form of water filter but requires regular filter changes and offers the most basic filtration. Jug filters only increase the quality of your drinking water, few have the capacity to be convenient even to improve the water you use in cooking or in washing up.
