Water Filter
Water Filter benefits
There are a few different methods of water filtration, each one with its own validity and effectiveness. Costs and systems vary but generally, the purpose of buying a water filter system is to improve the taste, aesthetics and quality in terms of health and hygiene.
The water filter has become synonymous with clean, healthy drinking water. However, the choices of water filter can be simple and single or they can be complex and involve more than one to produce the quality of water expected from the filter system.
The purpose of the water filter is to remove contaminants and impurities found in drinking water. The extent and efficiency which is achieved depends on the filter combination, complexity and quality. A water filter offering varying amounts of filtration can range from a simple jug filter to a more complex Whole of House Filter System. There are filter systems used on a much larger industrial scale where the type of water filter used is principally the same but on a different scale to domestic usage.
Pure Eau are one of the leading suppliers of Reverse Osmosis water filter systems in the UK. Our units feature a multi stage filtration system including a reverse osmosis membrane which removes 96% of the impurities in tap water.
As the taste of tap water is defined by the chemicals added to it, our system restores drinking water to its natural state providing only pure, clean fresh water.
The advantages of installing a Pure Eau water filter system are many fold, not least the quality of the drinking water.
Water Filter types and purposes:
1 Sediment Filter:
The sediment water filter works by passing the water through it to remove suspended matter such as sand, mud and various metallic oxides over 5 microns.
2 Activated Carbon filters:
The Pre Activated Carbon water filter and post Activated Carbon (AC) water filter is an established technology which works through the absorption of compounds which cause problems in drinking water. AC is an extremely porous material with a very large surface area to which chemical pollutants are attracted and held by the AC's surface. This type of water filter is best suited for the removal of organic compounds and remove particles over 1 micron in size.
The function of the pre activated carbon water filter is to remove taste and smell but systems with supporting technology such as reverse osmosis, will also remove some harmful contaminants and impurities. The post carbon water filter is the final filtration after reverse osmosis to remove any remaining impurities.
3. Reverse Osmosis Filter:
Water filter membranes use Reverse osmosis, the latest technology, where water is passed under pressure through a semi-permeable membrane - 00000.5 microns. The water is allowed to pass through the water filter but the perforations are so micro in size, that other particles such as toxins, bacteria, parasites, salts, heavy metals are prevented from doing so. This ensures 96% purity and great tasting water.
Water filter systems from Pure Eau
These different types of water filter can be found in a number of systems available from Pure Eau for domestic and commercial customers. Our products ensure that your family or workforce enjoy only the best and cleanest drinking water, maximising the health benefits of hydration and making drinking water enjoyable. These water filter systems are generally permanently plumbed in to avoid any disturbance to your daily routine, like a jug filter would do.
A Whole of House domestic water filter system
This is connected to the mains water supply as it comes into the house and is good for removing sediment and rust. It serves all rooms where there is water such as bathrooms, kitchens, utility rooms. This system not only improves the quality of your drinking water supply, it also helps increase the lifespan of major appliances such as dishwashers and electric showers.
The under sink commercial domestic water filter
This comes in different forms. The water filter used could be a single one, simply there to chemicals such as chlorine and larger particles. The water filter installed to remove all contaminants is likely to remove odours and improve taste by removing chemicals, pesticides, heavy metals. This type would only serve the area in which it was installed i.e. the kitchen. many Under Counter Water Filters supply a stand alone faucet rather than the main supply, though both types are available from Pure Eau Ltd.
A jug filter
A jug filter uses a water filter canister. The water passes through the filter where it is held in a jug. This is the simplest form of water filter but requires regular filter changes and offers the most basic filtration. Jug filters only increase the quality of your drinking water, few have the capacity to be convenient even to improve the water you use in cooking or in washing up.
